Places To Visit in Kilifi
Kilifi bridge
Kilifi Bridge is the longest bridge in Kenya with a total length of 420 metres. The superstructure is a prestressed continuous box girder carrying two lanes. The bridge has three spans. The construction of Kilifi Bridge was completed in 1991. It connects Kilifi and Mnarani. The road heads to Mombasa towards south, and Malindi, Lamu and Garissa towards north.
Mnarani Ruins
The Mnarani ruins are the remains of two mosques near Mnarani in Kilifi County, Kenya. Dating from the 15th century, the mosques are located on a bluff overlooking Kilifi Creek from the southern side. The settlement at the site dates back to the 14th century, and the site also contains a number of tombs.
Mida Creak
It is a tidal creek that stretches from the sea to the Arabuko Sokoke forest. It is a perfect kayaking destination and a bird-watching paradise. It is an ideal place for water sports such as waterskiing and wakeboarding. It also features a 260-meter walk board, perfect for nature walks with family and friends. A restaurant and a mini-bar are also available at the site.
Marine Park
The park is in Malindi town, approximately 110 km from Mombasa. It was the first marine protected area in Kenya and the oldest marine park in Africa. You find marine life like; coral, seagrass, mangroves, turtles, and a variety of fish. It’s the perfect destination for snorkeling, glass-bottomed boat rides, and diving.
